Noter:
Hans Low obtained Tornegård, 34' Slg. Åker, in 1625. Its name was
Tornegård at the time he purchased it, however this was only its
"official" name. Although it was listed for many years as Tornegård,
in the common parlance, because of Hans Low, it was known as
"Lauegård." The Low family owned the farm for several generations,
however it later went into Kofoed family ownership. Lauegård's area
is estimated to amount to 118 "tønder" (estimated produce in barrels)
land, where of 8 tønder are meadow and the rest consist of crop land.

Karen Hansdatter probably died of plague, which ravaged Bornholm 1653-
54. In Åker alone 557 people perished from the plague.

The family-name has been variously spelled: Low, Lov, Loug, Lou, and
Lau. Hans Low's place of birth is not known, nor who his parents
were, but because there is a Lau family in southern Jylland (Duchies
of Schleswig and Holstein), it is possible that the family has its
ancient roots in northern Germany.
